Dear NCSY JSU TJJ NY 2021 Family,
We just finished our first weekend in Israel and it was spectacular. The energy was powerful from beginning to end.
Friday began with our first excursion to the lookout on Mount Bental and to hear the stories of our heroes, the soldiers of the Israeli army that because of their sacrifices we can be here today! We even heard the story of our own bus driver!
Taking the inspiration with us, we entered the sweet home of chocolate at the De Karina Chocolate Factory where we made our own chocolate and tasted many exotic flavors.
Shabbat opened with singing and dancing as we accepted Shabbat upon us. Activities, games, and discussions of various natures had the teens thinking, considering, and contemplating all Shabbat long.
A special surprise birthday celebration for Olivia Spears Saturday night also added a tremendous component to the vibe of our new family.
In our message at the end of Shabbat, which brought laughs and tears, we asked the teens to open their minds and take advantage of the amazing journey we have begun together.
What a beginning!
